Q: How do we get faith? is it the gift of God or is it an act of a person?

A: Faith comes in various ways–by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10: 17,18) ; God gives it to us (Rom. 12:3); it is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22); and one of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:9). The use of faith increases it in us. Seeing others’ faith accomplish things, inspires ours. The act of exercising faith is the believer’s duty. Effective faith is belief in action.
